Litigation and Transactional

Legal Services

Lina Kaisey is a litigation and transactional attorney representing individuals, companies, and civil society organizations in disputes involving data privacy, consumer protection, commercial contracts, emerging technology, and related issues. Where relevant, she also advises technology-based companies in transactional matters.

Her practice focuses on complex litigation at the intersection of technology, privacy, and public accountability, including matters involving platform conduct, data misuse, deceptive business practices, and cross-border legal risk. She brings experience advising clients through every stage of a dispute, from pre-suit investigation and case strategy to pleadings, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial.

Lina began her career at Kirkland & Ellis, where she worked on high-stakes domestic and international transactions, financings, and restructurings involving sophisticated parties, complex deal structures, and volatile regulatory environments. Over the course of her career, she has also represented artists and media & technology founders in establishing and growing their ventures as well as exits. Currently, Lina represents clients in litigation and advisory matters involving privacy, commercial disputes, technology governance, and speech-related issues.

Before practicing law, Lina researched data infrastructure and governance frameworks at the MIT Media Lab, drafting policy recommendations for local and national agencies on responsible data use in emerging digital ecosystems. That background informs her litigation practice, particularly in cases involving technology companies, data-driven business models, algorithmic systems, and institutional accountability.

Lina received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.S. from UCLA. She is licensed to practice law in California and New York.
